19th Century Carriages & Wagons: A Writer's Resource

image: CD labelCarriages & Wagons were around long before the 19th century. This book is written as a reference book for the Historical author. In as many cases as possible I've cited from sources written during the 19th century. I'm also concentrating on American Carriages & Wagons. You'll find that the growth of carriages in this country correspond to the building of roads.

At the beginning of this century, America was still recovering from the Revolutionary war. I found information about the types of carriages & wagons Americans had at the turn of the century. However, most of these were built in Europe. It wasn't until the later part of the 19th century that we started to see carriages built in America. In this book, you will find approximately 60 carriages & wagons that were common during the 19th century. It is not a complete list as there were hundreds of wagons built all around America. I have tried to pick the most common and ones that others built their wagons from. I hope you find this resource useful as you research your historical writings.

    Enjoying the Research,
    Lynn Coleman
